Entertainment, automation and security systems, as well as the latest TVs, gaming systems and appliances reply on the power quality of the user’s home. Poor power quality conditions can cause these devices to deteriorate more quickly, need frequent reboot or even replacement. To protect against these issues, ESP/SurgeX Expert Manager software provides insight into power conditions to help integrators analyze and identify power quality issues so that they can quickly and easily resolve them to protect their customers’ investment in their electronics. The powerful analytics tool is able to provide insight into a broad spectrum of power conditions including over and under voltages, electrical parameter data, power outages and surges. The software lives in the ESP/Envision device, and allows dealers to diagnose their customers’ power conditions and identify potential issues empowering dealers to deploy methods to resolve the problem and significant reduce the need for frequent device reboots or product failure that can be caused by electrical anomalies. This allows customers to protect their investments and work towards protecting their home from damaging surges and improving their home’s overall power quality.
Describe product's design and/or technical innovation - The ESP/SurgeX Expert Manager software provides integrators with a way to diagnose automation, security or entertainment system and device failures that stem from power quality issues. Power conditions can degrade devices’ lifespan and cause systems to malfunction or require frequent reboot. These problems don’t show up in a single product diagnosis, and it can be difficult for integrators to prove to their clients that the power quality in a home or in the field is the culprit behind issues with a system.
The Expert Manager analytics tool within the enVision power diagnostics system allows integrators to remotely monitor power conditions, and can produce a report over a certain period of time. Integrators can use this data to see whether a system issue stems from a specific product or if it is in fact coming from the spikes or surges that occur when large appliances are powered on/off, or from poor power quality. It allows them to provide answers to their customer with quantifiable data about the power in their home, and educate them about power quality issues that could be affecting their system – overall helping them give better service to their customers.
What sets your product apart from others? - Expert Manager is the first software tool in the industry that analyzes a wide range of conditions and issues such as electrical parameter data, under-voltages, over-voltages, or power outages and surges. Expert Manager is an in-depth power diagnostics software available to dealers serving the residential and light-commercial markets. The robust analytics tool is designed to keep connected equipment running smoother without disruption, against a wide variety of power issues and can offer a corrective course of action that can be as simple as adjusting an abnormal load, or something more serious like contacting an electrician to correct excessive neutral-ground voltage.
What benefits does your product provide? - Expert Manager benefits both integrators who use it and their customers. It records data about power conditions and helps integrators to analyze and diagnose problems in their customers’ systems stemming from under-voltages, over-voltages, or power outages and surges. This added knowledge benefits the end customer because integrators are better able to identify a power-related issue versus a standard device failure to implement protection against poor power quality in homes before installing an expensive system.
Any time a piece of equipment needs to be replaced or is taken offline because of a power-related issue, it costs money. For the integrator that device downtime means they need to roll a truck to remove the old equipment and install a replacement. Without proper diagnostic equipment, power issues can go unnoticed or misdiagnosed and lead to additional product replacements or repairs. To the end-user, that product downtime usually doesn't come with a financial loss, but time lost that they could have been enjoying their system if power issues takes down a critical component. Expert Manager provides the analysis of a complex array of power-related data with the ability to translate that data instantly into reports that pinpoints problems and offer solutions to solve them.
